|About the Position: University Advancement is seeking an Assistant Director of Annual Giving, Phonathon to plan, coordinate and implement the annual Phonathon fundraising program. This program solicits new and recurring private gifts from a diverse constituency of alumni, parents and friends. The Assistant Director works collaboratively with Advancement colleagues, deans, department chairs, faculty and staff and reports to the Director of Annual Giving. This is a full time, 12-month administrative FLSA exempt position with an excellent benefit package, including over 4 weeks of vacation. This position is available immediately.
|About the College/Department: University Advancement includes the Alumni Association, Western Washington University Foundation and Special Events and exists to support Western Washington University by building enduring relationships with its constituents and raising funds from private resources. University Advancement staff members provide broad-based programming to create life-long relationships and raise, process, manage and steward annual and major gifts from alumni, parents, friends, faculty and staff, corporations and foundations. Both the Alumni Association and the Foundation are 501(c)(3) organizations with volunteer boards. University Advancement strives to further Western’s identity as an institution that welcomes and embraces diversity and encourages applications from diverse candidates.
|Position Responsibilities: With limited direction from supervisor the Assistant Director of Annual Giving, Phonathon plans, implements and manages the Phonathon, establishing goals, processes and procedures for the annual phonathon fundraising appeal to raise over $300,000 annually from alumni, parents and friends. This position is solely responsible for hiring/firing, training and supervising staff while administering and evaluating a salary bonus and incentive program for up to 50 student employees. The ADAG, Phonathon will prepare detailed reports and statistical analysis and will communicate with deans, department chairs and staff to prepare scripts, fact sheets and other printed materials. Assists with other fundraising activities as assigned by the Director of Annual Giving including the student philanthropy campaign.
|Required Qualifications: |
- Bachelor’s degree
- Proficient using the Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience working with an automated phone system or demonstrated knowledge and experience as a fundraiser
- Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
|Preferred Qualifications: |
- Two or more years related phonathon/call center experience or work in a higher education development environment
- Demonstrated ability to analyze statistics and prepare reports
- Management and leadership experience
- Strong customer service skills
- Experience working effectively with diverse individuals
